  • Hi and welcome to the University of York Volleyball Club!
    This is where you want to go to play Volleyball during your time at university – no matter at which level. We provide women’s and men’s competitive teams as well a beginner’s group if you want to try out something new.
    Women’s and men’s first team compete in second and first BUCS Divisions North, respectively. Furthermore, there is a beginners group training twice a week; this is the right place for you to try something new or play volleyball at a non-competitive level.

    Over the past years, UYVC established itself as one of the most successful clubs on campus with regular presence among the

    final 16 teams of the 
    country and appearances in the final rounds of the student cup. In addition to regular league matches, there are more highlights in our season: every year we compete in the traditional Roses tournament (vs. Lancaster). Over the last year, UYVC was able to underline its supremacy in this competition and is looking forward to maintaining the competitive edge in the future.


    • Off court, the volleyball club might well be seen as one of the most sociable ones in the university landscape. More or less regular socials have brought unforgettable moments about. Formal socials like the annual Christmas Dinner and President’s Weekend round off the tradition that has been fostered over years.

There are regular training sessions in the main hall of the sports centre on campus Thursday and Sunday night.
