Elections were held last week to bring in a new committee to run the club for the 2008/2009 academic year. The new committee is: President: Jon Stammers Treasurer: Joshua Chipman Secretary: Lucy Porter Merchandise: Janis Koknevics Congratulations to the new committee! Further elections will be held at the start of the Autumn term for other positions on the committee. |

A little late but... Overall, Roses 2008 was won by York but only by a very slim margin. As for the volleyball, the women played their best game of the season yet (according to inside sources) but the Lancaster women's team were unfortunately too strong and won the game 3-0. However, revenge was had in the mixed game where the score went the other way and York came away with a 3-0 victory. Congratulations to all those players who went! This year will see the first (of hopefully many) Volleyball Club President's Weekend! This event will be taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend towards the end of May (23rd - 26th May). The weekend will include Old vs. New team matches and some outdoor volleyball (weather permitting of course). A great night out is planned on Saturday starting with dinner at the Mana taverna in York which will include an awards ceremony and some plate smashing! If you're interested in coming contact the club via the website and we'll put you in touch with Soph who has been organising the event.

This weekend the club will be competing in the annual Roses tournament versus Lancaster University. There will only be a women's and a mixed match due to Lancaster lacking a men's team this year. Results of this clash will be posted on the website after the weekend. |

 AU Dinner 2007 The Autumn term has now started and both men's and women's teams are preparing for games in the BUSA divisions. If you are a member of the university and would like to join the club, we cater for all standards and offer a beginner session to help work your way into the teams. The website should now be updated on a regular basis, so please call back to find out the latest news or come along and see us play our home games. You can become a member of the site by clicking on the 'register' link in the login box on the right hand side of the page. You do not need to be a member of the club to become a member, and membership will keep you reguarly updated with news and information from the club. Members can also create a profile and share this with others. Once you have become a member you can sign up for the club mailing lists using the link on the right hand menu. The site has recently undergone some major changes. If you were previously a member of the site, you will no longer be registered and you must complete the registration process again.
