Last night at training the club held elections for the posts of President, Secretary and Treasurer for the next academic year. This year's elections also saw the club first (at least in the last 4 years) of actually having two candidates run for a position. The results were as follows: President: Ben Brown Secretary: Charmain Heah Treasurer: Nick Villani
Congratulations and good luck to everyone for your year of office which will begin on 3rd July 2006! |

The latest issue of York Vision has been released with a Roses pullout giving all the results from the Roses competition. The article on the volleyball performance is subtitled 'York smash Lancaster with a wonderful display in mens but fall behind in the womens match'. The backpage of the pullout has an article on the top clubs of Roses 2006 which were awarded to Archery, Tennis and Hockey. While the volleyball club can't match up to the maximum points of Archery I feel we were unlucky not to be ranked 2nd or 3rd after taking 2/3 of the points. If only some of the larger clubs could match this success then winning Roses every year would be simple! The latest issue can be found at the York Vision website. |

Last weekend both teams took part in the annual Roses competition, which was this year held in Lancaster. The results were as follows: Women - Lost 3-0 Men - Won 3-0 Mixed - Won 3-0
As all three games were 1st team games and were worth 4 points each, so York won 8 points and Lancaster 4 points. At the end of the competition, Lancaster were overall winners 134-115. See the official results and scores or the York AU website for more details. |
