The club is run as a member of the University of York Athletic Union. The club constitution can be read here. A brief history of some of the club's acheivements can be found here. To be a member of the club you must first join the University of York Athletic Union. This can be done by enquring at the Athletic Union office reception or going online to www.yusu.org/au and currently costs £15 for the 2007/2008 academic year. Membership of the AU has many benefits but is needed by members of the club as it provides insurance against injury whilst at training sessions. You must also become a member of the Sports Center. This currently costs £25 for the academic year 2007/2008 and can be bought online when you become a member of the AU or be paid at the Sports Centre front desk. Once you are a member of the AU you are then able to join the Volleyball Club which costs £15 for the 2007/2008 academic year which entitles you to free training sessions during term time for the complete year. If your course does not run for the full academic year then a single terms membership is £5, 2 or more terms is the full £15. Members must also play match fees if they take part in a game. Match fees are currently £3 for an away game and £1.50 for a home game, per person, and help to cover some of the costs of travel. Any member who wishes to play for the club must also pay a £4 registration fee to BUSA, for which they will recieve a registration card allowing them to play for the club.
