We are now at the end of the BUSA season for both of our teams.  Here is a brief description of how the season went:

Women's Team

The team got off to a slow start to the season, mainly due to a distinct lack of players for the first term.  After losing the first three games, it took until November for the team to begin to gel, winning the last 3 games of the season to finish with 3 wins, 3 loses for the year.  This put the team in fourth place in the division, a respectable finish!

Men's Team

The men's team got off to a similar shaky start, with the last start at the University making it difficult to get a team together for the second week of term.  After missing a few key players for those games and then having to face Sheffield Hallam in the second game it wasn't a good start to the season.  During the next few games this all changed with a couple of good wins, but a few more losses, especially a loss to Newcastle 3-2 were costly.  The season finished on a high with 2 wins, the team finishing the league won 4, lost 4.  Due to a very close tie on point for 2nd to 4th place and good results against Manchester the team managed to finish 2nd overall and qualify for the knockout stages.

Keep reading for more details of the knockout stages as they occur!
